PLEASANTON, Calif. – February 9, 2005 – CenterBoard, the Virtual ODS Company™, today announced that Gambro BCT, world leader in blood bank technologies, will embed CenterBoard Integrator™ into its Vista™ Information System – Enterprise Edition, one of the most innovative software solutions available to automate the business of blood banking. The incorporation of CenterBoard’s Virtual Operational Data Store (Virtual ODS) into Vista will allow blood collection centers to get crucial blood donor information without the cost and time associated with copying data.

“To comply with FDA requirements, our Vista enterprise customers need to access blood donor history information quickly across multiple sites while keeping this data secure,” said Peter Fletcher-Haynes, director of R&D at Gambro BCT. “We evaluated moving all of the donation history to a central repository, but it didn’t make sense for security, efficiency, and cost reasons. CenterBoard eliminates the data replication overhead by leaving the donor information in place at each blood collection center while providing networked access to the information when a donor comes into any collection center.”
