CenterBoard Completes Second Round of Funding from Bay Partners, Woodside Fund and Siemens Venture Capital
Venture Partners Demonstrate Continued Confidence in CenterBoard’s Network-Based Virtual ODS that Delivers Right-Time Access to Information

PLEASANTON, Calif. – October 4, 2004 – CenterBoard, the Virtual ODS company™, today announced that it has secured $6 million in a second round of financing from Bay Partners, Woodside Fund and Siemens Venture Capital. The company’s network-based Virtual Operational Data Store (Virtual ODS) is breaking new ground in combining network and database technologies to fundamentally change the way enterprises integrate data. The Virtual ODS delivers right-time access to information across and beyond the enterprise as if it were a single database, without copying data.

“This investment is a continued vote of confidence from venture capitalists who understand the compelling benefits of using a network-based Virtual ODS for enterprise data integration solutions,” said Thomas Henn, president, CEO and co-founder of CenterBoard. “CenterBoard’s networked approach to data integration fulfills a critical business need to have an accurate and central view of all pertinent information in order to stay competitive and to run day-to-day operations successfully. Many enterprise applications can be optimized using CenterBoard’s Virtual ODS, from business intelligence and analytic tools to supply chain inventory visibility applications—including those incorporating new technologies such as RFID.”

CenterBoard’s technology was originally designed and deployed by the US Army to control troops and assets in the battlefield in 1999. Siemens brought Dr. Julio Navas, now CenterBoard’s CTO, into its incubation center to develop commercial applications for the technology. Commercial design wins include a European postal service for track and trace, a leading provider of Supply Chain Execution software for global warehouse management, a Systems Integrator working with a large retailer for global distribution center management, and several large enterprises expanding their Business Intelligence information virtually by instantly adding data sources. CenterBoard spun out from Siemens in 2003.

First Round Funding
CenterBoard’s original funding of $6 million was secured in late 2003. Investors included Bay Partners, Woodside Fund and Siemens Venture Capital.
